Meet Our Seniors

"Observation and the breakdown of public identity and reality. The inspiration was my life. Experiences within higher levels of care and the feeling of always being seen, adjusting, and performing, even when alone, became the foundation for this work. This collection shows the art of hiding it all until it becomes too much, and where to go from there."

"My collection is influenced by the filmmaker, director, and producer Tim Burton’s aesthetics of creepy, spooky, and kooky, as well as my love for astronomy, astrology, and the elements. It is a nature versus nurture, yin-yang, light versus dark kind of thing. This collection is about me highlighting who I am and not being ashamed or scared to share it. Everything I create or design has some sort of design that has moons, stars, tarot, astrology, astronomy, Earth’s elements, the supernatural, etc. I have always had a strong passion and connection to the stars, the moon, tarot, and all things witchy. With my collection, “The Witching Hour Curiosities,” I plan to showcase my full personality through my designs and collections, embracing kookiness and weirdness to the fullest extent."

"My collection is titled "In the Dunes" which incorporates designs with a range of neutral tones from light sandy shades to deep olive greens. Deserts were the main inspiration, which includes a variety of textures from grains of sand, rocky formations, and engravings on pyramids. Some of my fabrics mimic nature's creations, such as crinkled wovens, precise crochet knits, and knit chainmail. I created this collection of lightweight clothing with the intent to be worn in the desert."

"XYRS is my brand a representing freedom of identity. I wanted to dedicate this collection to people who are confined by gender boxes, labels, and expectations meant to repress expression and community. This collection honors individuals who have been criticized for being their authentic selves whether labeled too feminine, too masculine, too fat, or simply not aligned with societal standards.

XYRS will be a brand that exists to remind us that identity is not something to apologize for; it is something to embrace. We are all different, and it is those differences that make us unique and ultimately bring us together. My trends for my collection are asymmetry, distressed and hardware. This collection blends punk and raw aesthetics with both feminine and masculine elements, creating a space where contrast becomes harmony. Sharp tailoring meets deconstructed silhouettes, while delicate details coexist with aggressive textures. The garments are intentionally imperfect frayed edges, asymmetry lines and layered construction symbolize the beauty within disorder."

" 'Speaking with the Divine' is an homage to the power of creation, and how human art connects us to something greater than ourselves. I wanted to mirror my inspiration by exploring new techniques like leatherwork and beading."
