"Speaking with the Divine" is an homage to the power of creation, and how human art connects us to something greater than ourselves. I wanted to mirror my inspiration by exploring new techniques like leatherwork and beading.

behind your collection?

My collection was inspired by my visit to Saint Paul’s Cathedral in London this past summer. I was amazed by the skill and dedication it took to build such a beautiful monument to history, culture, & art, completely by hand.

What is the name of your collection and how did you come up with it?

I named my collection "Speaking with the Divine" because I wanted to explore how creating connects us to things greater than ourselves. Rather than creativity being transactional, it's a conversation between us and the world around us, allowing us to express ourselves to the collective and for that energy to flow through us.

I chose a lot of rich, solid fabrics that would serve as bold backdrops for detail. For anything that wasn't a solid color, I went for eye-catching iridescent and shimmery fabrics that would carry light and movement well.

Why did you choose the fabrics you did?

Who is the target audience/customer for your collection?

Young, creative women who love archive fashion and crave unique pieces that are more art than clothing.

What did you learn the most while creating your collection?

Any progress is better than no progress, so even if you can only work on something for 30 minutes at a time, it's better to get a little done.

Who or what inspired you to pursue fashion?

As a kid I was super passionate about fashion. My mom and I would watch red carpets and Project Runway together, and I would comment on the looks or sketch along. When I started picking out a career choice, I heard that your true calling is what you were most passionate about as a kid, which led me to pursue fashion in college.

What do you plan to do after graduation?

What would be your top brand to work for?

What is one piece of advice you wish you could give to your freshman self?

Do work with buddies, it makes it easier to be held accountable and get things done.
